Twilight Actress Ashley Greene for DKNY Fall/Winter CAmpaign

DKNY's fall/winter campaign featuring Twilight actress Ashley Greene is flawless.  Greene looks phenomenal in the line that is known for its clothing that is modern and fashionable, while being commercial enough for the  everyday woman.  However, the fall campaign has a sleek, edgy, editorial look that should get rave reviews from the fashion industry.  This campaign will only add to Ashley Green's arsenal.  She appeared in Sport's Illustrated 2010 Swimsuit edition, and was also named the brand ambassador for the beauty label Mark.

Solange Knowles for Madewell Fall 2012

American retailer Madewell recently launched their fall 2012 campaign with ads featuring Beyonce's eccentric younger sister Solange Knowles.  The ad campaign shows off Madewell's casual, yet stylish pieces that can mixed and matched for the perfect "guy's girl" look.  Solange also brings her edgy persona that makes the clothes look cool and easy to wear.

Although there are many menswear inspired pieces, the  color and cuts of the pants and tops are flattering for several body types.  There are also dresses and skirts that are simple enough to pair with flats or boots, but girly enough to wear with heels.

The collection also includes shoes from flats to rain boots that range from classic solids to bold colors and prints.  Madewell also provides bags and other accessories that are as versatile as their clothing.  Madewell is defiantly a one stop shop for everyday pieces that make a statement.

Back 2 School Shopping Tips

Here are some great tips to get the most for your money while back to school shopping.

1. Have a predetermined budget. Parents this is a good way to teach kids about budgeting.  Having a predetermined budget will insure a more pleasant shopping experience.
And kids, if you know your budget, you can plan accordingly. In a nutshell, everyone wins.

2. Sort through your wardrobe. The great thing about "Back to School" shopping is that you get an opportunity to reinvent your look. Sorting through your wardrobe will not only allow you to determine what you need, but it is also give you the chance to get rid of all of the items that you do not wear. You could either give all of the things that you can no longer use to charity, or even trade items with your friends.

Litter Untitled

I know that this is a fashion blog, but I had to post about two very inspiring entrepreneurs that recently appeared on the ABC hit reality show Shark Tank.

The show allows everyday people to pitch their business ideas to very powerful investors. The entrepreneurs I am speaking of are two sisters from the San Francisco area that started a jewelry line, Litter, in 2009.

The Size of Beauty

The fashion industry has recently been criticized for its obsession with tall very thin models.  According to Plus Model Magazine, models today weigh twenty-three percent less than the average woman.  Just twenty years ago, at the height of the careers of super models like Tyra Banks and Cindy Crawford, models were only eight percent smaller than the average woman.
