Style Icon: Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson, began her iconic career in the mid 1940's.  The model and actress became an international sensation with films like Gentleman Prefer Blondes and  There's No Business Like Show Business.
However, it was the unforgettable scene in The Seven Year Itch, when a stunning Monroe stood on a New York City subway crate as her dress was blown above her knees.

Although Marilyn is the biggest sex symbol ever, her style still embodies class and sophistication.  She showed the world that a woman could be seductive with out losing respect for herself.    Marilyn's sexiness came from within, and although she is often imitated, she can never be duplicated.

Monroe was masterful at embracing and showing off her curves.  She understood how to dress her figure no matter what size she was.  Even though Marilyn's career was cut way too short, her image and spirit will never die.
