Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Preview: Charlotte Ronson

Charlotte Ronson is a born designer.  Growing up in New York gave her a unique sense of style at an early age.  Ronson launched her first collection, C. Ronson in 2000.  The collection received instant recognition, and in May of 2002 she opened her first boutique in New York.

Since then the line has been renamed "Charlotte Ronson", and has seemed to be a trendsetter for young, hip, and modern women.  Ronson is a fixture on the American fashion scene, and the brand is now known all over the world. She has also collaborated on several other lines with family members and friends.

The collection is a stunning array of textures, and pops of color.  There are classic pieces that can be considered staples in any closet, mixed with new shapes and silhouettes that are fashion forward.  Ronson is, and will be, one of the top American designers for years to come.

With fall quickly approaching, many ladies feel that they must abandon their spring/summer wardrobe.  However, spring colors in the fall are right on trend this season.  Colored trousers, bright blazers, and colored accessories can brighten any day.  As long as your attire is weather appropriate the possibilities are endless.  Here are a few examples on how to add color to your fall wardrobe.

Katie Holmes Fashion Week Debut

Holmes and Yang FAll/Winter 2012
Newly single Katie Holmes debut at New York Fashion Week is defiantly buzz worthy.  The former Mrs. Cruise took it a step further when she and her stylist Jeanne Yang decided to show their collection, Holmes and Yang clothing, center stage in the famous "tents."

Holmes and Yang
Designers have the option to show at several venues, but Holmes chose to compete with the heavy hitters like Diane Von Fustenburg and Badgley Mishcka.  Hopefully her collection will impress the many celebrities and fashion editors that frequent the tents during fashion week.

Victoria Beckaham

Victoria Beckham will be showing at fashion week as well.  Her venue of choice is usually the the New York Public Library.  Both collections will be shown on September 9.

Military Inspired iPhone Case?

This post is dedicated to Independent Fashion Bloggers project #61: "Be Uncommon."    The goal of the project is to use a fall trend to inspire an iPhone case design.  So I started thinking what would I want from an phone case.  It was no surprise that the dominate function is protection, and what makes you feel more protected than the U.S. Military?

So I became inspired by the military trend, which is so perfect for fall.  Military jackets and shoes are structured and give an edge to any look.  The trend is great for the girl who has a strong aesthetic, and who likes to get noticed.

When designing this phone case, designers think of dark blues and greens.  There should also be lots of straps and buckles to reflect the military trend.  Designers may want to use a darker shade to border the case to pull the look together.

This was such a fun project, let me know what you guys think of the design.

Vogue: My Favorite September Issues From Around the World

Vogue is possibly the most known magazine in circulation today.  It has always evolved with the times, and set the standard in the fashion industry.  Vogue magazine is a true reflection of the modern woman.  Although Vogue began in the United States, the magazine is now published in several countries around the world.

Vogue's September issue represents the start of fall fashion.  Some even call it the fashion bible.  Here are my 5 favorite September 2012 Vogue issues.

Dutch Vogue-- Dutch model Ymre Stiekema looks perfect in this embroidered blazer and thigh high boots.

German Vogue--  A cover with Selma Hayek in a fitted Gucci gown can only be called greatness.  The 45 year old Mexican actress and mother looks flawless.

British Vogue-- American model Karlie Kloss is rocking  this modern 80's look.  This cover is a true reflection of British fashion.

U.S. Vogue--The one and only Lady Gaga graces the cover.  Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott captured the pop sensation in a way that we have never seen her.  Lady Gaga remains true to her "Gaga-ish" style, however, the cover and spread is elegant, vunrable, and chic.

Portugal Vogue-- I love the styling in this editorial.  Model Patrycja  Gardygajilo looks amazing in the modern version if Portreguese attire.
